Our visit to ANZAC Green

What we are learning about Anzac Day

We have been having a variety of experiences this week learning about
what ANZAC is all about.

On Tuesday we visited Te Awamutu's very own ANZAC Green.  We had an interesting time learning all about the cenotaph and the many crosses.  We also had a very nice gentleman from the RSA who saw us, stopped and talked to us all about the setting up of the crosses and some of the people whose names are on the crosses.  See our photos below.

Here are Room 12 and Room 13 looking at and learning about the Anzac Green cenotaph.

Fields on remembrance.  We wonder why there is only one name on the front cross and the others have no names.

We are shocked by the many young men that died.  We even found one family that lost four sons.

The many, many crosses.

Looking back at all of the crosses with our New Zealand flag flying.

Continue to read our blog to find out what we have been learning about.
